Client: Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia, Non-Profit

Problem: Design a variety of promotional materials for the non-profit's end of year, celebratory 5K races. Designs should be kid-friendly and adhere to the brand's pre-existing style guide. The Spring 2016 theme was "Strong. Confident. Healthy."

Solution #1: One of our local 5K sponsors, the Potomac Nationals, would be featuring digital ads on the concourse boards throughout their baseball stadium for the entirety of our Spring 2016 season. Knowing that they would only be featured for a few seconds before transitioning to another, I produced a bright, energetic design featuring one of our runners, the Spring tagline, and the non-profit's website. Simple, yet effective.

Solution #2: The girls that are part of the program run the 5K with a buddy runner, so we produced invitation-style 5K postcards to promote the races. We continued the bright, Spring-like theme by employing a color overlay on a picture of recent runners, and incorporated a space on the front and back of the postcard for runners to address their invitations.

Solution #3: As part of my social media duties, I maintain the non-profit's Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. In order to drum up excitement for the Spring 2016 5K, I designed countdown graphics featuring former runners. These were posted to our accounts with information regarding registration and other event-specific details.
